can we have this discussion without you constantly throwing around pseudo philosophy terms with negative connotations?

Sorry the truth makes you uncomfortable. You really should stop rejecting things because it's new to you

Are you doing the Sam Harris "our actions are a result of DNA" argument? If so, while I can understand it, it ultimately leads to nihilistic chaos.

If our circumstances have an affect (like you stated above), how can we also have 100% power over the decisions?

Because our circumstances can only have as much effect as we allow them to have on us. For good or ill. You personally decide that.

Say you have an abusive, alcoholic father but a caring, supportive mother. Both have an effect. It’s your decision, however, which one will have the greater effect.

Will you continue the line of shittiness or resolve to be a better man?

It doesn’t matter how much help or harm people and events do you. Being great will never be easy. You have to personally resolve yourself for it.

To think freely? Wow
Like anything else, they've spent a lot of time thinking, observing and have the ability to see interconnectivity and alternative ways

among other things, its not all DNA

probably

which is why it makes so many people uncomfortable to discuss it

I, personally, think it is beyond fascinating and believe we should focus more on it

if we can determine why people do things more effectively, I think we could have a much better society

Perfect.

We allow influence, or we choose independence from it

is it though?

perhaps you are just genetically more like your mom which causes you to side with her?

Their own decisions

Everyone possesses the ability. Most stick with what's mwrong st comforting, like your point of view.

The idea that we can be responsible for our own outcome is terrifying to some people.

Sure, but external things help shape your internal decision making. It's a tough cycle.

Yes, I am scared of free thinking because I think every single highly successful person has had help of some kind along the way.

Roger, your position in the last few pages is based on the faulty logic that everyone has some innate moral compass.
