Does anyone here believe the literal interpretation of Noah's Ark as a ship that housed every species on Earth and survived a global deluge within the last 5-10 thousand years?

One of many bullshite stories contained in the Book of Genesis. Of course that never happened

A couple of reasons:

1. I am curious how Christians who believe it to be a literal historical event reconcile the story with modern geology and biology.

2. I am curious how Christians who consider it to be allegorical take the rest of the Bible seriously. If the story of Noah wasn't meant to be literal, then perhaps the same is true of the death and resurrection of Jesus.

My theory is that Noah's Ark was a Generation Ship.

The only “science” I need comes from the good book (the only book I need) and He works in mysterious ways

I am not religious but the reason is you can't mix faith with science.

If God is omnipotent and all knowing He can make anything happen, like for example putting fake fossils in rocks to make the world look however old he wants it to look.

Do I think it happened?

no

You can't argue that with religious people though so why bother?

People who come up with zingers about religion annoy me more than religious people ever have and I am instantly annoyed when proselytized. I look at "no religion" being a religion like the "null set" is a set in math. I don't care to hear anything about any of it.

Are you calling God a liar? Or are you calling Jesus a liar? Or are you calling The Holy Ghost a liar?

Because you better not be calling all three of my Gods a liar. One of them mofo's will strike you down before another one turns you into a salt statue, and then another will command you to kill your child because its the way of peace.

Yes, God and the Holy Spirit and Jesus collaborated on the penning of the Book of Genesis.

I believe that a man who had no biological father was beaten and bled to death, came back to life, ascended into outer space, and is coming back to earth.

The ark just isn’t that big a leap for me.

Do you think the two options are (1) literal historic account of an event in modern narrative form or (2) bullshite story?

The bigger fairytale of the reason for the rainbow is God’s promise to never flood the earth again... which is great for a kids book....

Or really it’s just light refracting ... but science...

Isn't a great flood a common theme in most religions?
