New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell has yet to approve any festivals for the fall. Her office has indicated that police staffing shortages could prevent such events. The Cantrell administration has also said that vaccination rates must continue to climb before they will approve festival permits.
Destroya now using "police shortages" as the next reason to keep the city down.
Oh but they already got Jazz Fest penciled in for October
go figure that one out.

WTF, I thought Teedy had Irvin Mayfield lined up to close out the festival?
Posted on 6/10/21 at 2:02 pm to MikeBRLA
They have been having “police shortage” since Mitch The Bitch was mayor. Difference is that the state was willing to spare some state police to help out under him.
I don’t think they are doing that under Destroyah.

No big deal. Can’t say I know many people here who given two shites about VooDoo fest. Jazz fest and FQ Fest on the other hand ..........

Many people I know haven’t really had any interest in NOLA since well before COVID.
Between street crime, stupid laws, a corrupt and incompetent city government which lead to a fricking skyscraper collapse, etc, there aren’t many reasons to go back.

To the OP...why dont you read the article before posting false information like you always do
VooDoo isn't going to piss off the mayor via public comment.
Did you not see in the article where Destroya hasn't approved ANY festival permits for the fall yet, and saying she won't unless vax rates go up and we get more police officers?

I hate Latoya as much as anyone and using Police shortages is an excuse but Mitch created this problem.
He did.
But what has she done in the 3 plus years she's been in office, to fix it?

No one is blaming police shortages as the excuse....the OP made that up.

So... what does that sound like, then?

That Dave Cohen at WWL Radio is mixing up stories and taking things out of context from a press conference from 2 weeks ago and making it sound like VooDoo bailed because of police shortages which is not the case and you took the bait like you always do

WWL Radio took a few comments from a May 25th press conferece and posted an irresponsible story that is fake news and the OP ran with it without doing any fact checking.
You are trusting nola.com over WWL radio?
Yikes.

Hey Karen...why dont you start another thread from fake news WWL Radio...
Posted on 6/10/21 at 2:44 pm to LSUFanHouston
You intertwined 2 different stories to make it look like VoodDoo cancelled because of a police shortage which is the furthest from the truth.....
Which both the City and VooDoo said neither of them have even spoken to each other nor did either of them say that was the case at all

You get the government you deserve.

Since you can't read (maybe a product of NOLA schools before they went to charters), let me copy and paste my OP for you.

Just sent out via WWL Radio - they are taking a "pause" in 2021.

Destroya loves power. She loves denying normal LA events. I was making the point that she is setting the stage to continue to ban events once COVID is no longer a valid excuse.
I was also pointing out that it's troubling that she's approved NO events for the fall, despite all these other events advertising.
So, Seth... it's ok you are gay, by the way. Didn't impact your sports reporting at all! But I didn't think Cohen was the Twitter poster...
