Yeah, that's my point. If you're going by body fat to determine fitness and health you're pretty foolish.

Shut up.

It is hard enough keeping this 3rd person thing going over the past 6 years.

Good stuff, man. I'm 41 with a thrice broken back and multiple other chronic pain issues. about 3 years ago I decided to change my biology from the inside out and started geeking out on nutrition. I have stopped all prescription medication by focusing on reducing inflammation, straightening out my hormones, and once pain was managable, exercising at an ever intensifying rate as my body comes back on line and can handle the increased load.

I win every day in the morning. Wake up early, run, resistance exercises. Go to the garden, pick green leafies and blend with other vegs and a little fruit. add a lot of fat via olive oil and coconut oil. Add anti inflammatories via camu camu, raw cacao and take anti inflammatory supplements (curcumin, krill oil, organic vitamin C, iodine, etc). first meal at 10, last meal around 6, usually skipping lunch if I'm out and in a hurry to avoid fast food. It's not cheap to live this way, but feeling 25 and not being on medication is priceless.

Can you maintain that for the next 40 years? Would you want to?

Surprised Scruffy has kept it so consistent over that time.

He has definitely earned a free premium membership.

Not him, but..I don't restrict certain foods. I don't do low carb or any of that, though I pay attention to my intake and try not to go overboard. I think low carb is not sustainable for the average person. Definitely not for me.

I do think I can keep up eating X amount of calories forever. It really isn't hard, and I'm not even at maintenance yet, which will bump me up an additional 500 calories per day.

I could easily continue skipping breakfast for the rest of my life. I have never been a breakfast person.

It's a preexisting condition. Poor souls. We should gladly pay extra tax to cover their disability checks and med expenses.

Yep, a retail construction company. And I'm building a house on a farm. Big enough for 6 kids.

A lot of people are totally misunderstanding the study.

It's not questioning the ability of a fat person to be physically fit.

The study is saying having a high BMI, regardless of physical fitness, increases your risk of disease.

However, the study admittedly did not separate out muscular people with elevated BMI's. They were grouped in with the whole population.

Being able to lift heavy while being fat is the equivalent of tits on a fat chick

Doesn't count

I laugh at the guys at the gym who think they are all strong and big and bad because they can lift heavy yet are fat asses with blubber triceps, a massive beer belly that overhangs their shorts and a triple chin. These types also tend to wear flat bills when lifting

see, I'm none of that.....just stronger than you

ETA: I'd contend that small tits on a heavy gal make the situation exponentially worse.

He's definitely "fit" imo.

The problem is it's not really about "fitness", it's about health. Don't confuse the British use of "fit" here. 300 pound Larry is still at an increased risk of heart disease unless he's a fricking freak, which is possible, but exceptional rather part of the rule.

Fit and strong are two very different things. I equate endurance and stamina more with being "fit".
