Prayers to his family. I work at Citgo down the road from Sasol and everything is crazy out here right now. Sasol is shut down for the day. Will update details when they are available. Makes you realize when you work out here that you can't take any day for granted, just lost a friend a few months ago in an explosion in a plant in Deridder, now this.

I'm just curious of the circumstances. Unsafe work conditions or lack of PPE. Having been around a lot of job sites I suspect it was the latter. Guys just take that stuff for granted.

Sad news indeed. The Site has shut down for the day.

We heard that an employee fell from an elevated structure in the Cracker, but nothing else.

Have a buddy that works for the same contracted company. Said the guy fell from really high up. Also said they could be shut down for a week or so. Really sad situation.

Yea It was pretty much confirmed from somebody that I know that he was a welder. I know the name too, but out of respect I won't put his name out here.

And this is why you always always always tie off.

I'm hearing a welder for Performance fell from furnace 90'-100'. Sending entire project home for the day.

Prayers for the family and everyone involved. I'm in the same industry and couldn't imagine going through this.
