I understand how it works. I eventually get a good chunk of that back but it's not for over a year as our bonuses pay out in January. I'd rather make a lump 401k contribution and then catch up on cash throughout the year.

You could work in health care. I got a 50 dollar gift card to publix grocery. I was taxed for it on my paycheck... I got about 38 bucks to publix. I have a doctorate degree.

It came across as me being that way, but really Im grateful. My division had a hell of a year and we turned some things round (private edu management, shutter)
Office was sort of blah today because of it. We had been hearing rumors of 8% and bonus.

Could be worse. We got $100 Christmas bonus and I've been waiting for 3 months to see what my raise is. I'm hoping the longer they wait the higher it will be.
