Just watched the video

While the kid was an idiot, I don't see how the cop's life was in any danger when he fired the shot. He was far enough away from the vehicle and fired into the window.

If he didn't think he could handle it by himself and needed to approach the car gun drawn, he should have waited for backup

Maybe we just need to stop acting like selling drugs is on par with murder?

I think here we are acting like driving a car towards a person is on par with attempted murder.

Funny thing, until I just now read the whole story, I though a cop just shot some drug dealer over nothing.

I guess people STILL don't understand, listen to the cops. In a mass majority of these stories, the people that are dead could still be alive if they had just stopped and listened to the cop's commands.

Most dogs don't listen, that's why they get shot.

This doesn't matter at all. The cop had zero knowledge of this. The only question is whether or not deadly force was justified. And there is no chance it was justified. The cop was parallel to the vehicle when the shots were fired and there is no indication this guy was going to injure civilians.

I'm aware. Just saying the POS got darwined just as he should have. If you're at a drug deal and a cop puts a gun in your face, don't drive in a manner that could hurt the cop. This isn't a cop shooting some kid in the back

Kid was a moron. Don't think anyone would argue otherwise.

Excuse me if I don't drown in tears over one less career criminal fricking up the American dream for the rest of us.

frick him for his choices.

You get shot/tazed/choked/beatdown fleeing the police or resisting arrest...frick. YOU. Enjoy your consequences.

His girlfriend probably feels turrible since she's the one who sent the text to the wrong number. I wondered why I had not heard much about this and saw the perp is white.

So protocol is shooting the driver of a moving vehicle?

A)How does that realistically prevent the officer from getting run over?
B) Assuming the driver is killed doesn't that potentially put many innocent bystanders at risk?

I think bystanders/motorists would be more at risk with a coked out, stoned kid racing away from the cops at high speeds.

Again, so the cop should have let the impaired driver back on the road to flee the cops? And endanger the lives of many others?

He obviously showed no regard for the lives of others, so why show any for his

But none of it was wrong, so I'd say the cop had pretty good judgement.
