'No big deal' says Monroe teen charged with shooting robbery victim in the head

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Authorities say a Monroe teen has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a Friday morning armed robbery.
According to arrest records, Monroe PD responded to a shooting in the 300 block of Malvern Street on June 14. Upon arrival, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to a local hospital and then airlifted to LSU Shreveport.
Police say witnesses helped them identify 18-year-old Johnathan Dade as their suspect. Witnesses told police that the suspect shot the victim over a cell phone and went to a nearby home.
Police say they soon located Dade in bed at that home. After being arrested, he reportedly told police that this was no big deal and he might get put on probation for two or three years. He also reportedly told police he might punch a guard when he gets to Ouachita Correctional Center.
Three phones were also located at the home. Police believe one of those phones belonged to the victim.
Dade is charged with attempted second-degree murder and second-degree robbery.
