So it’s become a pretty accurate representation of the country in general. A bunch of fat arse, nasty people.

I've been going there for 30 years now since i was a kid. A lot of the areas haven't done very well with keeping condos updated and that's keeping the prices steady instead of growing like in certain parts of 30A, SanDestin Resort etc. Also, rental volume is way up and that keeps some of the less desirable places at suppressed prices.

Oh and plenty of lower class people just have more money now.

Unemployment checks and stimulus checks brought those people to Destin. Hopefully next year you won’t see much of those people.

And there’s plenty of good spots to eat you not looking in the right places

Any place that is super high volume like Destin is never going to stay universally nice over time. So many condos are fairly locked in on size/quality with only limited upgrades being feasible, and you're dependent on other owners and the common areas/building itself.

It's how it is.

It really depends and your right about the common areas. We currently have 3 places on the Gulf coast, 2 being condos. We vetted both HOAs hard before investing. The units can be upgraded, it just takes someone who cares. All of the ones we've purchased have needed some level of reno, but its paid for itself multiple times over by now.

I dont know what I see more of in Destin, tattoos or cigarette butts in the sand. It's gross

I don't care about tattoos, people can put whatever they want on their own body.. But I will never understand why people who smoke cigarettes think that its no big deal if they throw their cigarette butts anywhere.

Its pretty much second nature to them. Then they bitch when all of a sudden they are not allowed to smoke somewhere.
