quote:

A New Jersey man faces life in prison after jurors found him guilty Tuesday of murdering his childhood friend for her inheritance money and then throwing her still-missing body off a nearby bridge.

Liam McAtasney, 21, was convicted of first-degree murder, robbery, conspiracy, desecration of human remains and hindering apprehension after two days of deliberations. He will be sentenced May 24.

McAtasney killed aspiring artist Sarah Stern, 19, at her Neptune City, New Jersey, home in late 2016. After strangling her to death over 30 minutes, McAtasney placed Stern’s body in the passenger seat of her car and drove it to a bridge in Belmar.

In a secret video recording, McAtasney told a friend he’d parked the car and started dragging Stern’s body towards the edge of the bridge when three cars started approaching. He said he put the body back into the car and waited for the vehicles to pass.

quote:

His roommate, Stern’s former prom date Preston Taylor, was there to drive McAtasney back and helped him throw Stern off the bridge. They left her car behind to make it look like a suicide.

McAtasney also said in the video he planned the killing for over six months and was disappointed he only walked away with $10,000 in cash, believing the amount in a safe from Stern’s inheritance following her mother’s death was more substantial.

Taylor, now 21 but 19 at the time of the killing, has pleaded guilty and had previously testified against McAtasney.

His confession was one of the creepiest things I ever watched. He makes as though he was inconvenienced by how long it took her to die. Anyone who can talk about killing an innocent person like it's equivalent to taking out the trash is beyond redemption. This dude would have killed many more people in his lifetime IMO.

So in all that time he did bother to do some kind of probing into how much he would get??

Just take him out back, and give him the Will Wallace treatment at the end of Braveheart. Deserving for all he put her thru.

I am someone who is far from perfect and has made hundreds of mistakes in my life.

So I understand mistakes and bad decisions.

I do not understand planned murder of friends and loved ones. It is something that is beyond my understanding.

I watch a ton of the discovery ID channel. It's nothing but killings by horrible people that generally look like this guy. Like you and me.

It's mind boggling the amount of murder people commit for no reason other than selfishness

I mean, if you're going to be that close to her for 30 minutes, at least stick your dick in it a time or two. Helps the time pass.

When reading the thread title I thought this was going to be about some kinky sex play. Then I saw her pics and I kinda wish it had been.

You'd think if you were going to invest that much time into killing your friend for money, you might try to figure out what the actual payoff could potentially be.

1. Roll him in glue, then in crab meat.
2. Release him in the middle of the frenzied crab leggers brandishing the serving thongs.
