Nitrogen is most important in vegetative stage. PK are utilized more during fruiting. Oh different kind of plant. My research shows nitrogen is byproduct in natural gas and makes it less efficient.

How do you start a nitrogen plant, if the nitrogen plants are down to start the nitrogen plant?

We have numerous air separation plants connected to a nitrogen pipeline. They use a LOT of electricity to run the electric motors driving large air blowers and chiller compressors to separate air into nitrogen, oxygen and argon.

Must get the air really really cold.

Yep, nigh-ter-jun pipeline is down and needed to restart the plant. Word is should have nigh-ter-jun back by the weekend.

There is some nitrogen in natural gas in some gas fields, not all. I have not seen any nitrogen rejection units in gas plants in Louisiana. NE Texas yes.

They use nitrogen to keep the fake vaccines frozen

I’m sure it’s been said but plants use nitrogen for instruments, purging, and keeping blankets on certain chemicals/hydrocarbons.

Trucks from out of state are arriving to hep get places started.

Can anyone shed light on this? From my understanding multiple plants can’t start up because of this.

Yep, and I am one of them.

Nitrogen is used as an inert gas in many uses in chem plants. We have to have it for safety systems before we can bring the plant up. You know... like FIRE, Dammit, FIRE!

As I understood it three plants that supply the pipeline are offline. As of today I heard they have power but have mechanical issues. Should be back up soon.

Trucks are not near enough volume for most.

We can’t start up because of no N supply from AL

Steam is from Cogen units not the ASU's. They might be on the same property and have same owner but different animal

Hard to make and compress N2 without electricity.

We’re waiting for N2 as well.

Not that it matters much as we still don’t have 100% power yet. Only partial.

Sounds like Air Liquide needs some competition.

Plenty of other companies try to compete but Air Liquide has built out a pipeline system so huge that no one can compete with their bid price.

I wonder what the start up costs would be for a nitrogen plant (might as well sell O2, Ar and CO2 too)?
~$50 million but you need a customer to build the plant...and you will have to sign them up at a major loss to compare to Air Liquide's extensive pipeline network.

N2 Pipelines are down in LA from storm
Air Gas issued force majeure for liquid N2 in SE USA due to lack of trucks; trucks are being used for Oxygen for hospitals
Driver shortage is further complicating deliveries of liquid N2

It’s a mess

All the O2 and N2 has been reassigned to hospitals for covid relief believe it or not. We mess with copper coils and HVAC so it’s delaying other industries as well

Incorrect. On the liquid O2 side, maybe, but OP is talking about the recent issue with gaseous N2 to the refineries and chemicals plants in LA.

Dude really? Y’all can’t parlay your H business into N. Use some of the take or pay funds to build first hundred miles of pipeline. “Build it and they will come”
