I bet Kaepernick would be perfectly ok with having this flag on Nike’s shoes:

Never said I agree with anything. I choose not to let shoes and retards upset me.

The reason corporations and celebrities feel empowered to try to force beliefs on "regular people" and most "regular people" feel the same way as you and wont stand up till it effects their everyday life. One notable exception was the Chic-Fil-A "boycott" a few years ago.

So if one group in the world uses any symbol then that symbol cannot be use by anyone?

I had great plans for a shoe and clothing line designed around this cool logo that I thought I had "invented" while doodling on a scratch pad, much to my chagrin, a friend of mine showed me a picture in a history book of this dude named Adolph, dude stole my image, dashed my dreams

the vast majority of people, even the ones that look at this story and laugh at its ridiculousness, will forget about this by next week and continue on with their lives

nobody really cares about any of this

What a great marketing ploy. Now we have the great "controversial" shoe that will be worth a lot of money to shoe collectors.

Not really. They had shipped a couple hundred thousand units to stores then had them all get returned. This was going to be a big seller for them for the 4th.

At some point you think stockholders will hold them accountable, but I think they're just too big and profitable. They will continue doing whatever the frick they want.

Being an outraged minority, or being outraged for a minority, pays pretty damn well these days.

Hence why we have so many outraged people. You always get more of what you subsidize.

There is a 0.0% chance that, before his agent came to him with this new PR opportunity, Kaep could have told you what the Betsy Ross Flag is or any relevant history behind that particular design.

Ignorant douche.

one of their top shelf rivals should make a copy of them, manufacture them, and be the anti Nike. Sell the shite out of them.

I'd wear them.... But I'm racist.

Lots of retailers do USA themed merchandise for the 4th and this is the only shoe that got pulled from this run from Nike. Also, I’m sure Nike has the AM1 design on patent/trademark lock down, tough to make a copy.

Apparently Arizona is stripping the incentives away from the new Nike plant being built out there as a response to this. And actively encouraging them not to bring the company into Arizona. Well done.

Arizona to Pull Nike Plant Incentives Over Betsy Ross Flag Flap

quote:

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced Tuesday he was ordering the Arizona Commerce Authority to withdraw incentives for Nike building a manufacturing plant in the state.

quote:

“Words cannot express my disappointment at this terrible decision. I am embarrassed for Nike,” Ducey, a Republican, tweeted... "Arizona’s economy is doing just fine without Nike. We don’t need to suck up to companies that consciously denigrate our nation’s history."
