The app was useful back in 2016 after the flood. Nowadays, most of what I see is ads and people selling crap / services.

Is anyone missing a dog with no collar? It was in my front yard but it's gone now.

True but it can get funny when both parties are on there and you get the “Hey you’re talking about me/my house” post.
There has also been a recent rash of junkie chicks begging for money. I have a friend who has temp custody of her niece due to her SIL being an addict. We see the SIL on there all of the time trying to get folks to give her money, lying about having custody of her kid, claiming she’s discharged military (she was in ROTC in HS, that’s it). So we call her out on it when we see her.

With the way the economy is going, aboot half of the ND stuff coming through is links to people's Gofundme so they won't be homeless.
There are also a lot of people begging for money to pay for the Notell Motel they live at because they had a heart attack and just got outa da hosbiddle.

I get like my immediate neighborhood and then posts from neighborhoods in the nearest city and there’s this one lady who doesn’t really live near me at all essentially e-panhandling by telling sob story after sob story and asking for help. Most of the comments are battles between people who feel sorry for her vs people who don’t tolerate con artists. The first few posts were pretty entertaining and then it got repetitive and old.

At first I saw stuff pertaining to my exact area, now it's scattered all over the parish/city which has NOTHING to do with my Nextdoor peeps. Never bothered with it again after people stated inviting their family living 20 mins away.

Hadn't been on in awhile, so readded the app and looked at it out of curiosity. Feed was filed with advertisements after every post. Had posts from every neighborhood in Jefferson Parish even though my setting are strictly for my neighborhood and the 3 around it.
But did see that Metairie is about to get a serial killer. Someone around Girard playground apparently cut off a cat's head and left it on the sidewalk at someone's house. No signs of blood anywhere near the cat head.

Hello neighbor.
My favorite was the woman always asking to clean folks houses when one of her clients came on, said she had paid her $700 in advance, due to a sob story, and had not seen her since. They argued for a bit, then another poster came on and informed everybody that the housecleaner was arrested for Burglary in Kissimmee, Meth in Palm Harbor, Tampa, Sarasota, Bradenton, and Plant City. Then things got exciting.
