No idea but it's really making sense why they called off the search so quickly.

They usually do in when people go missing at sea. My friend lost two sons, they didnt look long because its fruitless.

I wouldn't bother with her. Iirc, she was in the thread with the girl being killed after a night at reggies just running with anything being thrown out there. Basically had to be told to leave the thread because she ruined it nonstop

Not to derail although she is already here, but I thought I remembered her screen name from somewhere. Thats the thread.

Shark attacks are less rare if you jump right into their habitat.

not something I'd want to press to test, I used to live just inside the Jupiter inlet and did a lot of fishing, a lot of the times we'd leave to go out 3:30-4 in the morning and stop right in the inlet in the middle of a tide to catch some greenies, the entire food chain is there when "food" is being swept in or out, you throw anything in the water for those few minutes it's going to get bitten

The odds of landing in the path of a man eating shark are extremely rare. What is 100% happeing is a bad decision to turn from the ring and the current and darkness did the rest. Those two things are present. A shark was not needed.

I thought that was her. Thanks for confirming.

Why is that funny? They were asking about if this was called off too soon and I referenced the last 2 stories of people lost at sea where the search lasted a week or more.

I would assume he didn’t turn towards the ring because of current, boat wake, and/or he thought he could catch the side of the boat and grab on. It wouldn’t be a stretch to think “I need to catch the boat and get back on.”

He made a poor decision to jump, you can’t expect him with the adrenaline and fear to automatically go to the ring. Huge shout out to whomever threw the ring though. But I do believe it was someone who was ready for him to jump. Planning on throwing the ring to him while encouraging him to jump.

Regardless, the situation is tragic and I cannot begin to understand how the family feels.

I just don't understand why he suddenly turned and swam directly away from the ring all of the sudden.

lots of research on this, a lot of shark attacks are "bite and run," and a case of misrecognition of the target, ex., a surfer paddling out to catch a wave apparently resembles a seal, or something on the shark's menu, the shark hits, immediately realizes that's not what he/she/they thought it was, then spits it out in disgust

so, this didn't happen?

I said the last two big stories of people being lost at sea…. Still don’t see why that’s funny. I know people have been lost at sea since then.

You edited your post to ask if I was 12.

And here you are trying to derail threads again at least this time you didn’t use 100 laughing emojis.

And again, I am speaking the truth here. Some people just prefer to be coddled when the truth is too harsh for them. A shame that the OT has became so full of betas.

Is the “sharks attacked” narrative still going? I have looked at that video many times now and still can’t see anything. I must bad eyesight.

I'm very familiar with that, the sharks weren't eating the survivors, they were attacking them while looking for food, and Tiger sharks are extremely aggressive, a bunch of trash tied together with limbs dangling from all sides looks pretty appealing to a lot of the underwater food chain
