This is true in Ireland as well... although it was usually Bud in cities and large towns and Coors Light in the small town pubs.

All the English/Scottish/Irish ex-pats at Finn McCools drink shitty American light beers. A few will have a Guinness, but it is almost exclusively American light beers.
