Had to cancel my July Hawaii trip a few weeks ago. The way they keep pushing this lockdown further and further over there I knew we were screwed.

No he isn't. Millennials end in 1995 and even that's a stretch.
I always find it amusing that people seem to have utterly lost sight of why we are called Millennials in the first place: because we reached adulthood around the time of the new millennium. Then, they want to include people who were so young that they don't even have personal memories of the day the new millennium began

The Hawaiians I’ve met, were only slightly smarter than people from New Mexico who are the dumbest in the country.
I lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico for a while and I agree with this. They are by far the dumbest and most gullible people I've ever met. I met a handful of scientists/engineers who worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Lockheed Martin who were extremely intelligent...but everyone else is very dumb.

Actually arresting them sounds extremely counterproductive.

So is arresting people for personal drug use, but there appears to be a staggering number of people who believe that locking human beings in cages for the latter makes sense while believing that the arresting of the former does not. Very confusing for me.

Missing some important details on the story.
Was he #arrestedforvacationingwhilewhite?
Or
#arrestedforvacationingwhileblack?
I need to decide if I am outraged or not.

Arresting someone for freaking going to the beach.. this whole thing is just so freaking insane. I cant wait for this to all be over.

Preaching to the wrong choir.
But my point of arresting a guy with force and taking him into custody seems like the wrong approach if you're truly wanting this guy away from others for 14 days.

Not preaching to anyone. Simply pointing out hypocrisy and lack of integrity as I see it.

If they actually booked this guy, it seems the cure is worse than the cause.
Let's put a guy who may carry a contagion into a room with cops and other prisoners.
We have a quarantine in AK, but it's not enforced by violence. It's a trust system.

So if you plan on going to Hawaii for a week right now all you could do is sit in your hotel room??? No thanks

I’m at my beach place this weekend at St Augustine Beach and the place has cars with NY plates everywhere. It’s been this way since the pandemic started. Those who had condos were smart and bailed out. They’re clearly past the 14 day mark so they pose no risk but, the concept of restricting travel from one state to another is a scary idea.
I get it if an infected person ignored quarantine rules and went into public. In terms of the couple in Hawaii, test them and if positive, deal with them accordingly. If negative, let them enjoy their vacation.
This is an overreaction by a fascist government. Come on lawyers, do your damned job and fight this in court.

but assuming Hawaii is similar to Louisiana, their legislature passed laws giving the governor authority to issue emergency declarations, and further passed laws outlining the penalties for violating said declarations.
Louisiana’s laws for emergency declaration don’t give the governor to right the quarantine healthy people.

Sure, but the underlying laws are unconstitutional, so...

Hope you progressives who love the idea of more government are loving your taste of more government.

Meh, regardless of how you feel about the "law" here, it's hard to feel sorry for the guy.

It sure is. Wait until you see how many more McKernan billboards go up. He might give away 920 bikes this year.
