Yes. Hopefully going to start this week. Wife did our bathroom vanity using gel stain. Turned out quite nice. They were the same oak cabinets.
For the kitchen, painting them, she has looked up tons of info on the internet. The pictures and directions she has shown me looks good.
She did read that Benjamin Moore paint is the best for this. For all the rest of our house and projects we use Sherwin Williams. However, this Benjamin Moore paint, is supposed to self level. We do have a spray gun (harbor freight), but think we will use a brush. We are going to go to the local habitat store and try to find a cabinet for cheap to practice on first, to see which way is best.

If your windows are standard sizes you may want to consider going with replacement sash packs. That will come with the upper and lower Sash and new jamb liners. You should be able to get those installed for about $350 as per unit, give or take. If you're going with new replacement window units taking the entire unit out and recasing it you're probably looking at 6 or $700 per window minimum. The nice thing about doing sash packs is it you can do it from the inside of the house so it doesn't matter how high off the ground you are. You can technically put units in from inside but it is a lot of work and it's going to cost you.

I just had 13 double pane wood windows installed for $6500. $400 per window cost plus $1500 to install. Windows were made by a Marietta company called BMC & installed by a contractor I know. Nice, well built windows

How is replacing sash going to allow me to see out of my milky windows? Seems like I still need full window replacement?

I paid $208 per window from Window World. 17 windows. Removed and hauled off old and installed new. $3536 total.

decide if you want replacement window inserts or full frame replacement. It will have a dramatic impact on the cost and looks depending which you choose.
