Samsung is paying me $350.00 to buy this Speed Queen

Their washer was working fine, but they knew it was crap.

Just wait until your washer sounds like an fighter jet taking off when the spin cycle runs. $70-100 for the tub seal and bearing kit, another $100 for the tool to replace the bearings or $370 for the outer tub and drive shaft assembly.

In reply to the comments about the top loaders without the agitator, and being able to fit so much more. That's the problem. You aren't supposed to fill those up but halfway. Otherwise you put too much weight on the suspension arms once the clothes get wet and they break. But they don't tell you that at the stores. People just look in and see all that space and think they can fill that bitch to the rim with towels.

And for those of you with the speed queen top load, Google how to override the door switch with a clothes pin. It's very handy. ;)

Well I guess it's time that I chime in. Back in January I took the job as the new Samsung Home Appliance Rep for BR, Lft, Alex, and LC. Yes, there was a VOLUNTARY recall for certain TL washers. Those were repaired and the entire lineup is being changed. Best Buy has all of the new ones floored now with Lowes and HD soon to follow. I'd be happy to answer any questions. BTW, if you ask the reps at BB (who are much more knowledgeable than Lowes or HD btw) they'll tell you they get fewer complaints on Samsung.

BTW, because of last year's flood I currently have the highest sales in the country.

I have an 8 year old Samsung washer and dryer. They haven't been terrible, but the washer has had issues. Especially if you don't empty the trap regularly, it will just force it open and leak water on the floor rather than back up into the washer.

I just found out the Whirlpool rep was let go or quit and Frigidaire got rid of all their reps. LG only has reps in certain markets. I'm currently the only active rep for Home Appliances which is thriving because of last year's flood.

SQ without a doubt!! Google the video comparing the Maytag to the SQ. With the SQ you can control the fill level, all the HE models just give a puddle of water. We gave our 13 month old $1200 to our church thrift store because it was going out of balance 90% of the time. We have had the SQ for 14 months and love it! Just about all the laundry mats use SQ!

You could go expensive with a SQ, or get a cheap one, and have similar results. It's no big deal to throw away a $150 washing machine after five years

We love our Samsung top loader. It had the best reviews on consumer reports at the time for top loaders.
Side loaders were not an option.

Whirlpool cabrio.
Maytag Bravos.

Same thing, both garbage.

Get the cheap ones you see everywhere or spend the money and get speed queen.

There is a reason they are on Craigslist at 20 years old for $100.

We got a Speed Queen washer in June. It replaced a less than 2 yr old Whirlpool. The model with the row of lights. I'd go Speed Queen.

How much is everybody paying for a top loading SQ washer with manual controls. Seeing varying prices online.
