Napoleon will either buy a Speed Queen or the cheapest thing they have.

very cheap fix. You have a bad water inlet solenoid. Universal inlet solenoid would fix that right up. Part is relatively inexpensive.

I personally use whatever I can get for cheap or free.
I'm about to bite the bullet and get a new oven. One of those cheap Chinese Viking clones from Amazon and I'm going to convert the oven controls and electrics to actual Viking. Because I can.

We finally ditched our Samsung fridge (2009). 5 year warranty during which time it was worked on twice. Once the ice maker was replaced, and another was some sensors or something. Well the freezer stopped freezing. $800 for a new compressor, 4 months later it starts getting warm again. We bought a new one and sold the Samsung for $100. It was over $2k new. We bought an $800 one.

Brand new Maytag washer <1 month old. Already making a knocking noise when the tub rotates during wash cycle. POS

could just be something got between the tubs.

Oh really? I wouldn't think it would be anything major since it's brand new. I have it covered for 6 yrs total. Do I let it ride and wait till it sounds worse, or should I call for a service visit.

A six year warranty?
I don't know any brand that goes longer than one, except for drivetrain.
Even then you will pay service fees and labor.
I would 100% call now while it's under a full warranty.
After a year they won't want to deal with you.

Hey, we are about to buy a fridge and electric range.
What brand(s) are most dependable? I read where you said GE fridges were bad about having a $205 part go out. But didn't see anything else.
TIA

I like Electrolux/ Frigidaire for fridges, followed by Whirlpool brands.
I hear people love LG but I am not sold.
Now I like the LG ranges a lot, but for most ranges the Whirlpool brands would be most reliable I would think.
Of the high end I like Viking but hate Thermidor.

Thanks bud.
Frigidaire and LG were some of the ones that she liked, in refrigerators. Probably leaning toward a Frigidaire.
Yeah Vikes are pimp, might upgrade down the road if we stay long enough.

Paid Lowe's $150 for a 5 year protection plan that kicks in after the manufacturer 1 year warranty.
But I'm going to call to have it looked at now. Thanks for the help!

Just an FYI, the ones you meet at bars rarely work out.
The best places are pottery class, church, pumpkin patches (given the time of year), or at yoga.
