Rental car companies are having to do the same. It's causing used car prices to spike.
My Lexus guy offered me 25k for a 2016 rx last week. Zero down, 15k off a new one if I can wait a month. I paid 45 for it new. I had no words. But I can't just sell the car to them, either. That only nets me 20. fricking strange times, baws

Anybody got that ram eco diesel on here?

Ram offers pretty good discounts. Ford and GM playing hard ball. But if I’m buying a truck it’s Ford or Ram anyway, GM is overpriced and inferior and Chevy is just straight garbo

Chevy has royally pissed me off with their shitty transmission, but I wouldn’t call them garbage. I know a couple of guys that have newer Fords and they’ve been in the shop a ton.
Cant believe it, but I’m gonna probably give the Ram a shot next time. Unless Tundra upgraded interiors and gets better mileage than it used to.

I don’t know if they have the best engines but Ford is reliable. Plus they look the best.

New ram with the painted grill and bumpers gets my vote

brand between Ford, Ram, and Chevy still give the steepest discounts.
All

You're insane if you think you'll get any kind of deal on a new truck for at least a year, if not more. Production is hampered and stalled for many of them due to chip shortages.
It's a sellers market by far.

Ram is still making deals. Look at Mark Dodge in Lake Charles. They’ll get the lowest price around.
Posted on 4/4/21 at 7:50 pm to AFtigerFan
Get a used one if you can find what you want and at a reasonable price.

I'm looking at a 2020 bighorn with sport package. Doesn't have the new enormous screen but thats ok. No chrome. Might pull the trigger

18-20 f150 in 5.0L is as close as perfect a truck as you can get. If I was getting a chevy I'd get the prior body style not the current Hoover edition Vacuum model. Dodge's have become much better in the past decade and don't look bad. Toyotas are great, especially Tacoma's but they're a little small. Tundras are great trucks they just look like a potato on wheels.
As for the electric truck nonsense, we may see hybrids in the next few years and possibly full electrics but they aren't gonna stop selling gas/diesel trucks. Even if they did, demand would be through the roof.

Once this is cracked the entire world will change. Everyone will use whatever company makes the breakthrough, probably Tesla or Amazon, as somewhat of a taxi/Uber service.
People will say it’s crazy to think that, but the government will likely implement taxes/and for owning gas vehicles being illegal without a special license.

ETA: I can't wait until all vehicles are self-driving. Get in, crack a cold one, relax and watch the game or take a nap. Wake up at your destination. No more red lights, much less traffic congestion.
You are exceedingly naive if you think any of that will happen. It's about like believing, "man, once this birth control shite gets widespread, I'm gonna get sooo much pussy!"
None of this "progress" is about the kind of good, clean fun you seem to want to have. You will learn that eventually.
