There are already some of the suppliers near the Toyota plant in Tupelo, MS about 2 1/2 hours from Huntsville.

They may be closer but the Toyota plant in Tupelo already makes the Carolla same car as planned for Huntsville. Suppliers are already in place.

You've still got to add onto the supplier's space then. If you add cars, you've got to add more supply chain. An exisitng supplier may employ 200, now may ramp to 400, etc.
But again, the tier 1 suppliers, the ones that have to get their parts to the main assembly plant quickly, must be located within about a 20 minute drive of the main assembly plant. Tupelo or Chattanooga's tier 1 suppliers will be too far away.
Of course, some of this could possibly be supported with logistics and warehousing nearby, but nonetheless, that will have to be done close by, as well.

My son just graduated from UAH in mechanical engineering and started to work for a company located next to the proposed site. They manufacture/mold the foam for automobile seats and have contracts with Toyota and Nissan now.

The only time you chime in on this board is to defend Louisiana. It’s clear that you’re a swamp rat that’s never lived anywhere else.
If you have nothing intelligent to contribute to the conversation, then stay in your fricking trailer and watch your incest porn down in Houma. Only people who have never left the state for an extended period of time don’t realize how backwards we are. We’re currently in the national spotlight for arresting a teacher because she voiced her opinion. GTFO of here with the “Louisiana is the best ever” mentality. I’ll get the frick out in due time, but while I still live here and my extended family still lives here; I will continue to call out and bring attention to the issues in hopes that more people are motivated to fix them, despite illiterate swamp rats with 10th grade educations.

Needless to say we are thrilled to partner with these businesses. Polaris and GE Aviation are located just across the street from the site location.
