New tires question

I have a 2010 F-150 and had to get a flat patched today.
(Shocker…) they came back and said they can’t patch the tire and all four tires are dry rotted.
Tires are about 4-5 years old but still have some tread.
For an AT tire and alignment it’s about $1600
For a street tire and alignment it’s about $1200
Is it worth shopping around?
Worth just replacing the one tire?
Dry rotting seems like their go to excuse
ETA I’m an idiot on the prices I originally put

16k and 12k for tires? Is your car a monster truck?
Always replace all 4 but maybe not at that price.

You mean $1200 and $1600 I'm assuming.

Tires worth double the truck.

What price do you put on your family’s safety?

Might save $100 somewhere.

I wouldn't but that's just my opinion

I’m surprised you don’t know someone who can give you a better price in New Orleans, since you are king
Used to be a guy on N Galvez that would get you a ‘new’ set of tires, an alignment and brake pads for a couple hundred bucks and a bottle of Hennessy.
Those were the days.

Dry rotted sounds like BS on tires 4 to 5 years old.
Plug that tire and look around.
Looking for tires for wife's Rav4. OEM tires with about 45,000 miles. Tire store quoted $1200 for 4 installed. Sams $400 less. Same tire.
Look around. Someone always has sales.

I put some Falken Wildpeak A/T4W's on my 2019 Sierra last summer and I love them. I always get my tires at Discount Tire. If you find a better price online, they will price match it. No questions asked.

If the DOT dates on the tires are 5 years old then it's time to let them go.
Even with good tread the damage a tire can do when it delaminates isn't worth the risk IMHO.
Unless you do a lot of driving where you need off road tires I would put all seasons ("street") on it and enjoy the better ride, lower noise, higher mpg, and longer life.
Discount tire direct has been my go to lately. Since they merged with tire rack all of my purchases have been trouble free. You can also find some good deals online if you look hard but that isn't as good a plan as it used to be 10 years or so ago.
Definitely get the alignment with the new tires.

Don't pay that for a 2010. Go on line and buy however many tires and brand you want from Walmart. Have them shipped to your house for free. Then take tire(s) to your local Walmart and have them balanced and mounted for free (bring proof of purchase from Walmart)

TireRack has most tires in the sub $250 range for a 2010 F150 4x2 for 17 or 18" AT tires.
At worst, just replace a pair at a time.

Buy them online, go to a tire shop and have them do it or ask how much to rent their machine for an hour and do it yourself. It’s actually quite easy.

Pretty easy to spot and generally on the inside of the tire. I'd check because it presents a dangerous condition.
