I got exactly 15 drops of rain at the house about an hour and a half ago. We aren't incredibly dry at this point, but it has been a couple weeks since we had rain.

Had a nice little storm roll through earlier

So, uh… this is usually a joke post but we actually are heading to Punta Cana next Friday. Is it in the cross hairs if that 60% chance for tropical storm materializes?

Did y’all see how bad NWS North Platte fricked up yesterday during the severe weather? I’m surprised there wasn’t a thread about it.

Yeah, fricking horrible. When the neighboring NWS is tagging you in Facebook posts saying you should throw a warning…that’s embarrassing.

Yeah, I mentioned it on the previous page. I thought about starting a thread, but I'm just lazy. They dropped the ball big time on that.

I also though about starting a thread on the Ruidoso wildfires being determined arson and the FBI putting out a reward.

Hell, it looks like the only reason Omaha tagged them was because someone wrongly blamed their office for missing it. North Platte was catching shite even before Omaha tagged them. fricky situation all around.

It’s the result of 1. the best meteorologists not wanting to live in BFE Nebraska and 2. DEI hiring practices have infiltrated the NWS and they’re no longer hiring the best

I wonder if this will accelerate the push within noaa for the SPC to issue warnings country wide from a singular location.

For sure. We are booked at Secrets Maroma. One of those things you know when you book that hurricanes can be an issue. We will reschedule if we have too, but was really looking forward to it next week.

I'm in the definitely fricked category. Playa Mujeres booked June 29th to July 6th. Ain't flying out in a hurricane on July 6th, so now I have $2,700 worth of one-way flights hedged to get us home on July 4th.
