I just finished the album. It's a step up from her last one for sure. Getting with someone besides Jack Antonoff was a good idea, his poppy synths we're getting stale. This album is much more interesting musically than her last few. The lyrics make you cringe at some points, which makes me believe she really does write most of these. She can hire the best writers, they're not writing "love was the key that opened my thighs" or "made a deal with the devil but my dick's bigger." She sees Sabrina Carpenter crushing it with quirky dirty lyrics but she just can't emulate it. Overall I don't think it's bad, I just think her lyricism has gotten worse and it's not cute to have a 35 year old woman writing songs like "I heard you were talking bad about me, you're a little Chihuahua"

She’s old and washed. Needs to go home and have babies or stfu.

The daughters review on our morning run
quote:
It was good, but nothing was great. The lyrics left a lot to be desired and it sounded more like Sabrina Carpenter than Taylor Swift. It was more “I want him and nobody else” than anything else. Predictable and repetitive. You could tell after the first two songs that the lyrics are not normally where they should be.

She said exactly the opposite but admitted TPD is her favorite

Opalite is by far the best on the album. It's poppy, funky, simple, and straightforward enough to not have any of her goofy lyrics in it. Father Figure and Actually Romantic are just bad

Better than your wives/daughters listening to Twerkslop, but not by much.

She writes her own music.
Well with the few writers that write songs for all the female pop artists.
Her last album

The standard edition consists of 16 songs; Swift wrote three of them herself and co-wrote the rest mostly with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner. Post Malone featured on and co-wrote "Fortnight"

This thread is just as cringe as her music.

I mean those are great tracks
Objectively they are not. It’s grocery store background music and everyone fawns over it like her songs are all some brilliant musical piece. I was listening to a Lynyrd Skynyrd record the other day and it made me think about how stupid it is that music like Taylor Swift’s is as popular as it is when it doesn’t even remotely compare.

I am going with her judgement over yours! Didn't read the lyrics you posted.

It seemed to me from the ones that I heard that it was an attempt at songs that would be good in a live venue to her audience rather than being a top-notch album on its own. But I don’t even really remember the names of the songs I listen to except for canceled.

This was written in a Jewish laboratory to further hasten the decline of white women.

Tell that to the 35 to 45 year old white women out there.
They like her more than the teenage girls. I don't get it.

She's been doing this for almost 20 years. The 35-45 year old women were in their teens and early 20s when she started and grew up with her.

Yeah...I forget she's been around a while.
I remember her country songs. They didn't really care too much then like their crazed obsession is today.

This is the cringiest stuff I’ve eve read in my life. I’ve heard most of early stuff up through Red. Didn’t realize she was putting out this kind of trash now. Is this what ya’lls wives and daughters like to listen to?
