"No evidence exists to prove that having high levels of bad cholesterol causes heart disease, leading physicians have claimed" in the study, reports the Daily Mail. The Express likewise says the new study finds "no evidence that high levels of 'bad' cholesterol cause heart disease."

Fat people just suck regardless of this study

What about all the old studies that contradict this?
So if it’s “pointless for most people”, then at least for some people they prevent atherosclerotic plaques which cause heart attacks and limb ischemia.

I hear that if doctors don’t put somebody on an expensive medicine for something instead of recommending cures like weight loss and prayer that they’ll lose their kickbacks and might not get to go on the drug cruise

How about linking the actual paper.
You are quoting a reason.com article that in turn quotes Daily Mail about an article in Expert Review of Clinical Pharmacology, not exactly a high impact factor journal.
There is probably a good reason this was published there and not a meaningful journal.

I’m sure you prefer the journal “Kickbacks Today”

What’s dangerous is these bullshite studies that people validate without fricking thinking of merits.

How do you know what is a bullshite study and what isn’t?

Stations lower inflammation which is a likely cause of heart disease.

When you have plenty of scientists do more studies, actively try to disprove it, and come up empty-handed.
The problem is that many times they don't really try that hard if they believe the initial result, but that's a different topic.

Yeah. I don’t know much about his particular journal but there are time of these open access pay for publication journals that will publish any BS study as long as you pay the processing and publication fees. It’s hard to weed out what’s legit and what isn’t.
But, if a well done practice changing study was done, it would have been published in a much better journal

A cardio once told me that if they really worked you would get them as a kid and there would be no more coronary blockages, he did qualify that statement that in a very specific subset of pts, that there is evidence that they provide some benefit but it’s not a end all/do all

It is a bit reckless for the interwebz to tell people medication is useless without data and detailed studies.

They cost about ten bucks a month.

No they don't, that's what you pay for them. All you fatties are getting them subsidized by insurance companies costing healthy people more money.

Heart disease is genetic. Doctors don't want to say it en masse, but it is true.

Partly, but I can guarantee you there'd be less of it if half the population wasn't pushing 3 bills.

This. Most people get heart disease because they wear genes instead of running shorts
