This is so incomparable it basically is irrelevant.

Not really when you look back in time and there were tons more fatalities and people kept coming back anyway. People can be resilient and come back from terrible tragedy.

I assure everyone I am not being flippant - but, I sure hope they saved some money in the budget for a fricking armed security guard or three.

I hope so too, but I am betting there was some strong opinions that it should be a 100% gun free zone.

Though the architects are understandably reluctant to list them, other security features include windows and walls thickened against gunfire. Those measures follow new state guidelines for public schools. On the whole, the design carefully avoids the appearance of an armored campus.

Has the FBI acknowledged the tragedy actually happened yet? Last I knew they were still saying nobody died there other than a shooter.

Beautiful school. If the town voted and paid for it, there is nothing to argue about

We have a few great architecturally looking schools in LA but would love to see more

If I'm not mistaken, the school was paid for by a grant from the State. So I don't think it was just the town. Either way, nice looking place.

Hard to read about those kids. The guy that did this was a complete nut job. Was just reading he would only communicate with his mother (whom he lived with) by email. He refused to allow anyone in his room, and was completely facinated by mass killings. Of course his mother kept guns around the house.

Enterprise High School in Enterprise, AL was nearly $100 million after the 2007 tornado. Biggest bang for your buck was Saraland High School... great campus for under $30 million.

I understand this sentiment from others, but personally I could never do it. If I was there during the shooting I don't believe I would have ever set foot in that area again.
