The fact that people in here are starting rumors about her having some kind of sexual interaction going on. This article says nothing other than they were spotted together in a car.

Yea, discussing something in the news and looking at related social media is hardly a bashing. Nobody involved has ties to LSU nor Baton Rouge for that matter.
Grandted the Admins whacked two threads about the death of a pizza parlor owner's wife but the two situations are hardly the same.

Is there ever a reasobable explanation why a teacher would be caught in a "suspicious" car with one of her students 5 hours after class ended?

The cops certainly would charge the teacher if they took the kid aside and scared him/her into talking and he/she said "yes we met up with the intention of fooling around."
That's all it takes.
