Let me start off by saying that I fully support people's right to protest and that police brutality is a problem in this country (although I feel the education system and prison system are bigger problems in terms of racial inequality).

But, I don't understand something. The new New Orleans restrictions say that no more than 50 people are able to gather outdoors. Yet, weren't we told that the massive outside protests of well, well over 50 people did not cause the spread of coronavirus?

So, which is it? Is the restriction total government overreach and not necessary? Or, was there actually coronavirus spread at the protests?

Something isn't adding up.

Can someone furnish video evidence of someone saying that it doesn’t spread? I have yet to see anyone say that.

Google "protests didn't increase covid spread" and look at the dozens of articles from major publications and news outlets. It's laughable political pandering.

I don't have links, but Johns Hopkins said that protests can't be looked at as spreader events.

There's a screenshot floating around from CNN saying as much.

New York City contact tracers were explicitly trained not to ask if anyone had taken part in a protest. There were articles written about that.

Yeah, they were fricking lying. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence realized this.

It’s why I chuckle at all the people on social media screaming about “follow the science.”

And yet there are a disproportionate amount of black lives ending because of the virus, but that can be explained by inequitable access to healthcare, so it tucks in nicely with the narrative.

They say nothing about the protest because they know they can't do a damn thing to stop them. It's just like all of the murders, they don't get talked about because they can't do anything about them.

Ok
Everything I see is that the reports show little evidence that corona was spread by protesting.
I see a lot of people posting that people are saying that protesting doesn’t Spread corona.

While the statement that protests don’t spread corona is ludicrous, I don’t see anyone publicly saying that protests don’t spread corona.

Little evidence shows protests spread corona reports does not equal someone stating that protests does not spread corona.

Can someone provide evidence that people are claiming that protests in fact do not spread corona?

It's very rare that anyone has been able to give hard facts in regards to the virus.

And anyways, if there's little evidence that protests spread corona, then why is 50 the line for outdoor activities? Why not roughly the same number of people that were at a protest?

All we need is another reason to riot and protest to get those numbers back down.

Someone needs to step up and take one for the country

You mean, not a single mandate from anyone in a position of power is consistent, logical, well thought out, or nuanced in any way? I’m shocked.

But don’t let that stop the “keep it up” crowd from warning us that daddy government is going to spank us if we keep being bad.
