Ridiculous. No reason to use lethal force in that situation.
Seriously. Just tase the shite outta her. The shot almost looks accidental.

Not all police have tasers.

For those saying he should have tased her.....do you know if the officer had a taser or not?

It appears to be a bad shooting but I can't see who was in the direction that she was headed.

He was justified if there were people she was heading towards.

No, they're just being stupid.

He's the only cop there, gives her 100 lawful orders to throw the damn shovel down, she's spastic and aggressively non compliant while walking towards him several times.

It's as good as a shoot as she was worthless as a human.

I thought police officers carried a non lethal form of protection. Do they not? So replace my taser statement with “non lethal”. That officer shoulda non lethaled her smooth in the forehead. Better? Buddy?

They aren't required to carry non-lethal.

I'm just asking a simple question if anyone actually knew or not if he had one? Just a simple question....buddy.

Then they should spend some of that sweet civil asset forfeiture and speed trap cash on some.

I mean, this has to be worth a shite-ton of tasers, right?:

She is still alive. He shot her, or shot at her, 7 times. Once shot, another officer was trying to apply a tourniquet and she bit him.

If you can’t take a shovel from an inebriated drunk woman then should you really be out there trying to protect and serve?

It looked like she was having trouble holding on to the shovel much less actually hurting somebody with it.

You think she knew she was bringing teeth to a gun fight?

You seen a toxicology report that said she was just drunk? Looks pretty methy to me...

She was intoxicated so there is no telling what she could have done with that shovel. She could have swung it at the officer, knocked his gun out of his hand, picked it up and shot him. Is that likely? No. Is it possible? Yes. You can't ever assume when it comes to people who are intoxicated. A line has to be drawn somewhere.

This is another situation in which no one knows how they would handle this situation, if they were in it. Sure, it was just some drunk woman with a shovel, but like I stated above, you can't assume she isn't going to do anything. She isn't in her right mind. Obviously. She had a gun pointed at her with the person pointing the gun, telling her to drop the shovel and that if she comes any closer he would shoot and she completely ignored it.

I think there should be a different weapon... maybe use rubber bullets. Pepper spray is pretty effective. There should be a weapon that can be used to directly shoot someone with it.. Like pepper spray balls. but he had to use the tool that was most appropriate for that situation.

Clean shoot. That’s why you hit them in the face once and three in the chest
