Tiger friends,

The wife and I are coming into town for the Sugar bowl and making a mini vacation out of it. Looking for a hotel or Airbnb close enough to the action to be fun.

Any recommendations on areas to aim for or avoid?

For your troubles:

Any hotel in the Warehouse District or CBD is fine. Better hurry up and make a reservation.

Look between Canal Street and I-10 and 90. If it was me, I would stay out of the French Quarter / other side of Canal after dark.

I’d try to get the French Qyarter Guest Houses king room offering at the Inn on Ursulines.

My wife and I always stay at the Windsor Court when we are in NO. Their rooms are HUGE.

Bus 90 / Pontchartrain Expwy / GNO - I went with what the online maps say so he could find it. The fourth side of the square would be the river.

Excellent choice. I love that it's across the street from the casino and an easy walk to both the quarter or the warehouse district action.

To the OP, the closest hotel is the Hyatt, but I'm betting it's full.

La Pavallion or really any place on Poydras would be good.

If you are looking for a little better value play the Embassy Suites in the Warehouse District is good.
