Who was taking them at that time anyway with most of the city closed?

Cop chases lone jogger on empty beach, public buses and streetcars continue to run. Isn’t this thing wacky?

Accidentally put a $20 in a streetcar once, after leaving a girl's house..I was up to no good in 2005. Anyways, instead of getting a good breakfast on the way home I had to settle for a bottle of water for the remaining walk.

How do you accidentally put $20 in? Wouldn't the bill reading machine spit it out? I know they always do when my $1 bill has one micron of the corner folded.

Not in 2005. It welcomed it with open arms.

ETA: Sorry. Forgot we're talking about New Orleans here. As if that city isn't going to just steal your money if you give it a chance.

No, all the driver did was give me a full free day. I was in a good mood though from the night before, chick was an IRL 7 who called in sick the next morning just to continue to bang and fool around more.
Eta
I miss being in my 20s.

Friend,
My streetcar was out of service from August 28, 2005 through December 2006. I was a conductor put out of work during this time. We didn't service my neighborhood until Christmas of 2007. Are you sure you weren't riding in April of 2005?

No, that was a bit earlier in the year. I had to scheme around her livejournal post hoping others I was talking to wouldnt put pieces together and see the dates. She lived over by south Claiborne ave..so that was fun.

Maybe that’s the point?
It’d be like NO to forget they were running and wonder why they gave a 100 million deficit.
