Let me tell you, if 9 year old me hit a kid in kindergarten and my parents found out, the least of my problems would be having a Patrice Henry choke me and slap me up against the windows of the bus. It would go down about like this ...
1) Asswhipping for hitting a little kid
2) Asswhipping for causing trouble at school
3) Asswhipping for hitting an adult who was rightly disciplining me.
4) Dragged to kindergarten kid's house to apologize to kid and mother.
4b) Slapped in the back of my head if the apology isn't deemed sincere enough by my father. Repeat, as many times as necessary.
5) Some loss of privileges at home for a period of time to be determined by my level of genuine remorse for being a shithead and embarrassing myself and my family.
I generally behaved myself as a kid because I knew there would be major repercussions if I didn't and I knew right from wrong.

Come on, we all love the bit in Bad Santa when Billy Bob goes ham on the bully.
Of course I don't advocate a parent beating up a 9 year old. Maybe True Detective 2. Beat the crap out of his dad in front of the 9 year old. I kid. I kid.
Having said that, I am glad I'm not a parent. If I was a parent, it would take serious restraint, not to kick someones arse if a 9 year old went after my 5 year old.

And that is why you send your kids to private school. If a 9 year old was harassing 5 year olds at my kids school, he would be gone immediately.
I say this as someone who attended public schools growing up. Some parents are so awful that it is irresponsible to make our children interact in any way with their spawn

Absolutely if you can afford it. That's why my heart aches for poor white children that have to suffer in those type public schools.
