They should honestly delay it until the flyover access is finished.

That's what I was thinking too. This may actually be good news.

Totally. Airport was needed but the airlines are in no rush to get over there.

Were the restaurant vendors allowed no input into the design of their kitchen facilities? Lord.

Oh yes we had plenty of input with our GC but the problem is other GC on the airport didn't coordinate with out GC because well why would they--two different companies working on two different parts of the building. When GC #1 changes the build-out plans well GC #2 doesn't have any input so they expanded on things and the other GC was stuck with revised plans which didn't interact with the other contractors. When you want to get as much political patronage as you can into one project--hire multiple GCs on the same building project--it works out wonderfully!

They should just leave it unused. Convert it into a tourist attraction about political boondoggles.

The existing terminals is just fine---put in some new carpet and add a coat of paint and let's just keep using it.

They can add more gates if need be at the old A terminal or on the west end.

From what I hear there are some serious foundation issues on some buildings in the new terminal complex and the sewer issues continue to pop up.

I guarantee you the new terminal will not be as user friendly for local travelers as the old one and will cost millions more to operate given all the busing back and forth that is going to have to happen.

Why build a new airport if you won't build it right? A new airport is needed however the new one will be a big headache and I'm not talking about simply getting to it either.

The people writing the checks are responsible. If subs are not performing checks should not be written.

hey, did Landrieu Concrete by any chance get a contract? I don't remember that being mentioned in the Times-Picayune.

Uh yes, his bitch cousin Renee Landrieu got a contract with the city on numerous projects reason being it’s a woman owned business.

The whole family are criminals.

His other cousin is a woman beater, Gary Landriue and his running for Governor

I don't buy the need for a new terminal.

Nashville, Charlotte and scores of cities with more people are getting by adding on to their existing facilities.

It was a foolish thing to do. It was VERY foolish to move it to the other side of the airport. They could have built a flyover all the way to the existing terminal from i-10 and refurbish the old terminal for less than they spent on this black hole.

Possible but if you are a food vendor you wait until the other food or beverage vendor exits first and then you expand your location to include the space where they were.

That's a pretty nice line up of vendors. I forgot about Mopho opening there.

NO doubt there will be a large turnover on food vendors. Why do people think that a new terminal will have the traffic to support more vendors????

It's not like people are going to say "let's fly to New Orleans so we can eat at the airport".

I hate Pralines is not going over. Got to be the only place in the world you can get chicken livers and pepper jelly in an airport.

Stop. There is nothing "just fine" about the current terminal.

Being annoyed at how this new terminal is progressing is fine, saying it wasn't needed is just ignorant.

Tell me what is wrong with it?

It is easy in and out. Baggage is a good spot. TSA works efficiently there and parking is close.

I would have liked to have seen them add some additional retail and restaurants. The District, Raising Canes, PJs Coffee, Mothers, and at least one more high-end restaurant like Atlanta has with One Few South. More upscale retail shopping stores would have been brilliant if they had done this right.

I get that this is a huge project but having 2 GCs seems like a really, really bad idea.

At least, have one subservient to the other.
