I don't know about "blame" but yes they aren't close. They had already admitted that some of the ones on the short concourse and before security weren't going to be open on May 15th.
Honestly this looks like 2-3 months more of construction needed, then testing and training. That was the joke about May 15th... maybe maybe if they tripled their workforce and went 24/7 they could get construction finished by May 13th... but then they still needed to test and train.
My guess is you will see construction end mid-summer and an open date after labor day, before the fall convention season hits.

I heard from a reliable source that they're going to blame it on the food & beverage vendors not being ready (The Airport was late in turning the spaces for vendors over to them).
The food & beverage vendors got fricked on the construction because the TWO different GCs didn't coordinate together and now most of the food vendors build-out space was configured incorrectly and kitchens were built too small.

The airlines aren't doing much better either.

I know the answer to this but can anyone explain why Boh Brothers got the contract and not one of the national firms that have actually built airports?

Probably because the infrastructure is not in place to get people to the terminal from the surrounding streets.
It's going to be a cluster when it does open

Going to be a real shite show if Shake Shack & the nice local places pull out or scale down what they were going to do

Don't worry, they can fall back on Pampy Barre's companies to run them all.

This is going to happen--there will be vendors who are going to be forced to scale down due to the kitchen configurations which won't be able to accomodate large number of people like they had originally intended.
This will affect revenue numbers the airport was counting on too because it will mean fewer sales.

between the downtown BR library construction and this it's amazing that government oversight persons don't lose their jobs

It’s amazing how stupidity is in this thread from people who have no clue what they are talking about.

Metro is the DBE partner, if there was political patronage at work, that's the stone I'd look under.
This is Metro's core business before it became a partner in constructing an International Airport, you tell me if that would train you for that specific task?

I am someone who has zero knowledge of the construction (other than what I've read in the paper and on this site). By making a conflicting post to what everyone else is saying in this tread without providing any other information you are doing your own opinion a disservice.
Please, share what is stupid from the others and how your information is more correct. I would love to have a better understanding of what appears to be quite the quagmire. As it stands now, a post like yours is completely worthless.

Wait a minute. I was informed that this new airport was needed so the administration and the restaurants/shops could operate more efficiently than could ever be done at the old terminal. You're saying that it might have been a lie?!?

Alternatively, the powers that be figured the new terminal would be garbage and wanted someone experience in handling/shaping garbage.

I was going to be a bit less diplomatic in seeking his informed enlightenment on the situation, but I will stick with your post, in echoing your request.
