New Orleans Mayor

There was a time when the New Orleans mayor was the only one in the country I knew about thanks to OT.
Does Latoya stand a real chance of jail time in the Federal suit or will it drag out forever and go away??

You're joking, right?
Even if she is brought up, some Uniparty member in higher places got theirs too and will stop any further investigation.
You aren't voting your way out of this level of corruption.

It would be fantastic if she had some consequences, of course she's oblivious to the fact of how many of the things she did were illegal and unethical, so she would of course feign innocence and blame others for unfair prosecution, accusations, etc.
But we all know, and she should pay. I hope she does. Just for the sheer not giving AF - which was actually impressive in it's intensity. Worst mayor of a major city that I can think of in my lifetime.

I thought this was about the current Mayor posing nude?

She’ll likely get convicted, but the sentence will be very short.
Latoya was overtly incompetent and downright obstinate in refusing to go along with even the most basic functions of being a mayor and simply soaked in the largesse of the office. She took multiple helpings of every possible permissible mayoral privilege.
But as for overt corruption, she seemed to be too stupid or unmotivated to try. This case involves personal abuse of her position and does indeed involve criminal acts, but the sentencing guidelines are pumped up by dollar amount, of which there is little in this case.

We are all hoping for pictures of the Mayor and Rita B. scissoring each other and snorting a line of coke on each other’s chest.
That would be a resume enhancement.

Cantrell's trial has been continued again, to some time in Spring 2027 ( NOLA.com). My sense of things is that they have her cold on what she's charged with--defrauding the taxpayers to pay, and pay for time with her sidepiece, Vappie--but even thought the money involved is not small (IIRC around $100k), in the scheme of things, even conviction on all counts won't send her to prison for a long time.

Her paramour Vappie has started showing up at my gym.
Guess he’s getting his butthole in shape.

That's about the only thing I'd vote for involving her.

This whole thing is just unbelievable. From the actual allegations and observed behavior, to everything playing out with the lawyers involved in the case on both sides. There's just absolutely no professionalism or discretion to be found anywhere.
Ex-Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s federal trial is delayed again. See when it’s set to happen.
Alfortish murdered one of the guys he paid to cause wrecks with 18-wheelers. Allegedly.

The postponement of Cantrell’s trial comes weeks after The Times-Picayune | The Advocate reported that the case’s lead prosecutor, Assistant U.S. Attorney Jordan Ginsberg, was placed on leave amid an internal DOJ probe into allegations that he concealed a workplace relationship with a subordinate in the local U.S. Attorney’s Office.

They still rendezvous at a condo or apartment across the street from my husband's friend's house in the Lower Garden District.
