Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.
I used total LA numbers for New Orleans.
The number is closer to 1 in 1k population. Still more than Italy but not nearly doubled as I had originally stated.

I just stated that in 2 different posts and corrected it. Even with correction it doesn't change end result of NOLA having more per capita cases than Italy.

No doubt. Most develop symptoms 2-7 days after exposure and serious symptoms in 10-14 days after exposure. All the numbers we are seeing now were people infected before our protective measures (closing schools, social distancing) were enacted. I am deeply concerned about New Orleans but also very hopeful that BR, Laffy, and Lake Charles can stay ahead of this thing based on the number of positive tests so far.

I'm simply comparing the numbers for NOLA vs the country with the most cases in the world per day currently. Nothing more. Take from it what you will or won't.

I am not down playing that is can be serious but it sounds like a massive amount of people have/ had it but did not experience significant issues.

This is true. Ochsner alone as a back log of over 2000 test to be released.
