I was looking into that weekend a couple days ago and hotels.com pulled up nothing..... Was wondering what was going on... Even googled to see if there was a festival or something

I would try Laffit Guest House in the quarter. Usually have decent prices and availability.

According to their website, they are expecting 15,000 attendees. That, plus the fact that fall weekends here are always crowded due to the nice weather and random festivals, plus other conferences, can certainly make the place crowded.

I needed a room for Oct 11th also and all I could find for less than $350 was at the airport.

Chateau dupre is a shite hole. I was drunk and asked a cop where it was and he had never heard of it. Check out the boutique hotels on frenchmen. The royal street in in top of the r bar has some nice rooms. We got a room on 4th of July weekend with no problem.
