When you get a to go cup, why do people buy two of them? Does it hold the ice better

I use double cups in the office for water. The sweat doesn’t come through the 2nd cup as it does just 1. I don’t buy cup drinks out on the road, I take a water bottle with me.

Always get double cups for my frozen daq's to go as I always get a shot of 190 and it causes the drink to bleed through the styrofoam.
