While unfortunate, you don't deserve to be paid. There were millions of other people in your same situation, you good with the government paying them too?

I mean what is so hard to understand. And what is your gripe with firefighters getting their scheduled money?

I lost 25% of my income in 2020 vs 2019. You are whining about 72 hours, I lost out on FIVE HUNDRED hours in 2020. Where's my taxpayer funded check?

Just because you get to ride the big truck and squirt the hose doesn't exempt you from being a crapbag freeloader.

Good god, I agree with Mingo. frick OP for that.

Also, I LOVE it when a thread goes nothing like the backpatting that OP expected to get.

What is the point of cutting hours to just pay whatever you saved? Your hours got cut, tough shite. Many others lost their jobs.

You sound like an entitled twat that has zero understanding of anything.

Keep the gloves up, pal.
Imagine being suspended from work for two weeks without pay for no reason. You gonna bend over a take it? Sounds like it.
Sorry I’m not. Those were scheduled days, I was sent home and not paid. I didn’t take off, or call in sick, or get suspended, which would make sense not having a let to stand on.

Entitled? C’mon man you’re better than that.

I wonder if I can get my company to sign off on the 72 hours of additional paid vacation leave program that OP got.

Weird insult.

Anyway, you should take up your gripe with your employer.

Stop saying you didn't get paid, because that is false. You just got free paid vacation time.

There was a reason. A pandemic

Answer this simple question directly, should every American who lost hours and subsequent income be able to file a claim to the government to reclaim those wages?

Someone correct me if Im wrong, but I thought you didnt get unemployment when you are furloughed. But are allowed to go look for temp work while still being with the company and receiving benefits.

Under normal situations this is correct. The COVID rules for unemployment changed this and allowed people furloughed for extended periods to collect (at least the federal portion)

What’s there number? I tell them to send you home for two weeks of unpaid vacation. I’m sure they’ll be happy to. Since you think it’s cool the government take money from you for no reason.

They did this to millions of people, I'll ask again, should everyone else be able to make a claim to the government to reclaim those wages?

I guess. I wouldn’t cry over it like y’all. Jesus, I hate to see people fail, so when I hear good news I happy for others who struggle. You do you though.

We didn’t file a claim, the city decided to give us our money.

BTW the city council still had city paid chauffeured cars the entire crisis. That burns my arse. Taxpayers should not be paying for members of the city council to have chauffeured car service.

You don’t understand it’s for your own good

Comrades!' he cried. 'You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organisation of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink the milk and eat those apples.

Me too, but you losing $800 over the last 18 months while others couldn't find a job at all doesn't sound that bad to me considering

Great, you can use that money to buy a t-shirt at the t-shirt shop at every corner.

yeah that makes sense. Thanks.

So now with that said, what is there to reimburse if they were getting unemployment benefits….

Exaclty. They threw is a bone.

I mean we did work thru the pandemic and not ask for a single thing. We worked with so many positive patients, hundreds of us got sick, we had expired equipment, not enough equipment. And we just kept showing up, because we had to. We don’t get days off, we don’t close, we don’t get holidays...so when they throw us a bone, it’s nice. Y’all can hate it and compare us to other people, but it’s nice for us to be recognized. Call it a bonus or whatever makes you happy. I was just sharing some good news for your public safety workers who normally are getting shite on. Y’all are on some next level evil shite.
Are y’all normally this mad at people making 10-13$ an hour? Don’t answer that.

They did more than threw you a bone, they gave you free money because you admittedly didn't work those hours.
