I guess ICE will be in the house at MSY when I fly back Wednesday. First time I’ll get a chance to thank them for their service face to face.

The other side of your idiotic argument would be if the Republicans would be open to compromise it wouldn't be happening.

Instead we are about to double pay to staff positions by sending in ICE to be crosswalk monitors.

Why should Republicans compromise on funding ICE? Democrats want to defund ICE and stop deportations, that’s why the left is holding up the funding. You lost, the American people voted for stronger borders and mass deportations after democrats flooded the country with millions of illegals.

Compromise on something else.

Democrats wont compromise and Republicans won't compromise. Middle America gets fricked and the politicians fanboi's are on here blaming the other side.

This reminds me of something that happened when we lived in Pittsburgh. A group of BLM protesters shut down I-376 near the Squirrel Hill Tunnel.

I had just gotten back from a long work trip, landed in PIT around 9:30 at night, and ended up stuck in traffic for two hours because of it. After a week like that, it was beyond frustrating.

I honestly don’t even remember what they were protesting anymore—but I’ve never forgotten how it felt sitting there, exhausted, just trying to get home. Ever since then, it’s been hard for me not to feel frustrated when inconsiderate protesters intentionally disrupt everyday people like that.

Democrats are doing that right now to a lot of people. They know this impacts our lives and they don't care. And blocking DHS funding at a time when the terror threat is increasing is extremely short sighted.

Why is funding ICE so objectionable that some members of congress are letting this happen? What did all of these people do to deserve the wrath of congressional Democrats?

They did… Trump fired Noem, that’s what the democrats initially wanted and Trump fired her. But that wasn’t enough, it never is for leftist. They just move the goalposts

But at least they are "Getting Trump" this time for sure.

I think they are intentionally disrupting the lives of normal Americans in retaliation for them electing Trump. This is not going how they think it's going either.

It's why there's an internal push back against Schumer.

Because unless you have a super majority the job of a democracy is to work for all the people. Republicans only need to get a supermajority.

The Dems never compromise. It’s always obstruction. The Save Act has over 85% bipartisan national support. Yet they are all 100% against it.

Why? What's wrong with this bill that pits Democrats against the American people and their own supporters?

The crazy part is ICE is already fully funded through last year’s Big, Beautiful Bill. This is just another democrat temper tantrum to hurt everyday Americans

Kind of funny. Had establishment Democrat and Republicans actually listened to the voters on immigration and trade 20 years ago......Trump would never have gotten into politics.

I would guess the same reasons that group was singled out in the BBB.

Fund the group you think is important knowing this fight was on the horizon. Don't fund the items that you can use weaponize politically. After all it is the president's job to keep the government open. It shows a lack of leadership that they can't come to an agreement.
