If they start avoiding the airport it could create some long waits. And if folks just off a flight ready to get their trip onward have to wait an hour for a ride then all of the nice new things in the terminal will be quickly forgotten.

It seemed like yesterday, there were too many drivers. It overloaded the staging areas, added to traffic coming from I-10, etc. So maybe if a few of them stay away, it's actually a good thing.

I’m staying away till they figure it out. I can make my money on Game Day this week.

There will still be 73000 people trying to get to and from the Dome.

There won’t be 73000 people looking to take an Uber.

And many rides will you actually make on a game day? 5? 6? What’s that? $40?

I bet you’d make triple your money with one of those pedi cabs on game days. Especially as nice as the weather is going to be this weekend

Flying out today (in 20 mins)
No real big issues.
Drop off as easy .
TSA Pre was 5 mins.
Smoothing King workers had absolutely no clue what they were doing.
It got crowded in B for a bit.
All good here.

New Uber, Lyft system at MSY causes long lines, frustrated travelers

They literally had Uber workers helping you out, and I waited a lot less than I used to at the old terminal (which was actually shorter than most airports). The only person in the line of 10ish people that seem frustrated was some boomer who asked somebody in line how to screenshot his PIN screen.

Some people of course are writing articles to make it seem worse than it is. Got to get those clicks man.

nola.com said only 2/3 of scanners were used yesterday. Pretty annoying if that's a TSA decision

I heard they used 10/12 at one point.

That's about as good a beer list as you will see in airport bars/restaurants: the brands regular travelers tend to drink plus a few good local options thrown in.

There's going to be 15 eventually, but only 10 are fully ready to go right now. 2 are almost ready and will come online in next few days, and the last 3, before Thanksgiving.

Not bad for an airport the size of MSY

Spoiled with options I have at ATL and DEN

I can remember the days of being excited about being able to get Yuengling in an airport.

Exact same here, only yesterday (the first day). Flew out to BWI to visit my kids in Virginia. Wife took me to the new MSY and we were both expecting the worst, since, well, it's New Orleans, etc... We left extra early, expecting the worst. We were wrong. Signs on I-10 were fine, traffic was fine, it was a wonderful facility and ran efficiently without a hitch. I was impressed. The only problem is I was an hour too early so I spent more money buying airport food than I normally would have. I LOVE how they have electric outlets literally EVERYWHERE to plug computers and phones in to. Yes, it cost as much as an aircraft carrier, but so far I'm impressed.
