Yeah Creole is NOLA. Not Cajun.
Awesome food and culture on its own but not Cajun. The attempt to blend them together is yet another example of white guilt.

why? Because we consider light skinned blacks ‘creole’? That wasn’t the original definition

No because some idiot who didn’t understand the difference to begin with decided adding some African flags to the CAJUN flag would make him feel like he was being inclusive. They are different ethnic groups and different cultures.

That’s a really convoluted word that I’m not sure has a clear meaning that we all agree on. Originally, it was meant for direct descendants of French citizens born abroad, who would have been all white. Somehow, over the years it got transposed onto blacks with possibly some French ancestry, but many with Iberian ancestry consider themselves creole, too. As a descendant of mostly mulattos from Louisiana who call themselves creole, I honestly have no idea what that word actually means.

A Pelican with $ signs where the eggs should be. That pretty much sums of this state, it sums up this country. Baby birds waiting to eat up what the mama bird brought to them. That’s the United States in a nutshell.

As a kid growing up in east tx I would see American and texas flags as far as the eye could see during Juneteenth celebrations. It was like a pre 4th of July for us. Now that the ruling elites have co-opted our local celebration, they slipped in the pan African flag and nobody seems to have noticed nor care.

A University of Louisiana at Lafayette professor has created a new regional flag designed to include residents of all races and ethnicities. "I'm just trying to start a conversation," Rick Swanson, political science department head at UL, said Monday. The Cajun/Acadian flag, which was adopted by the state legislature, represents residents of French/Acadian descent in the region with a nod toward the Spanish who helped the Cajuns settle here, Swanson said. "It went from being a single-ethnic flag to representing the region," he said. "Anyone who's not French-Acadian felt excluded."

Anyone that starts with, I’m just trying to start a conversation should be dealt with swift common sense. Those people don’t no shite about the real world and the people that don’t know anything about struggle and strife shouldn’t have a voice when it comes to making real world decisions.

That’s a cool flag that pays homage to the current one

HOWEVER

There’s not a fricking thing wrong with the current flag. It’s unique and state politics notwithstanding carries a great message. Change isn’t a tradition.
