You've answered the question.
Sure. Denver is prettier/nicer but also crazy higher cost of living.
Stay put young Padawan

That's not what Denver looks like, dummy. Denver itself is actually lame as frick when compared to the rest of the state.

You're going to have to get a 15-20% increase in pay to break even on the deal.

Nobody really lives in Denver itself. Lots of cool and affordable neighborhoods near the city.

If you're making six figures, and there is a small pay raise, move to Denver. Denver is an awesome place, but, like previously mentioned, you will have a higher cost of living. Counter the offer with facts to the potential employer. Take into account raise in taxes, higher cost of living, paid moving expenses (Full Service).
You said you were happy with your situation now, which puts you in the best negotiating position. Counter the offer, wait for their counter, and then come back with the "must haves" for you to move.

I'd counter the Denver offer with a salary that would make the move to the higher CoL area worth it.
Denver>Houston, but I wouldn't make the move unless it was for a sizeable pay increase.

So you post a pic of blacks in a seemingly poor area during a crisis as the Houston pic, and a fake pic of a much cooler place than Denver as the Denver pic?
Ignoring the overt racism, you dumb, m8.

Dumb question, but you weren't looking for a job and just received a job offer? How does that happen?

The company would also pay relocation fees. I would have a heavier workload compared to the current job.

So, you’d be taking a pay cut due to COL. Pass.

With multipliers for cool, more cool, so cool you'll feel left out. Affordable....is a matter of relativity.
Not mentioned yet is the worship of the great outdoors. Not just outdoors, but the more magnificent the better. You want to bike around....there are lots of paths. BUT you may find that unless you bike up to Rocky Mountain Park and Estes Peak at least once a month, you will be looked down upon by the serious lovers of the great outdoors.
Do you love dry grass and soil without weeds, more specifically soil without anything growing on it because the owners can't afford to irrigate it (or it's one of those years when there's not enough water?)
Then there is the "I've got my place here and it's really nice so it's time to stop building and stop letting all the rest of the country come in."
A good friend has spent her entire adult working life out there. Visiting her, I've seen areas become popular and fifteen years later be abandoned, because it's not "in" anymore. The turnover out there seems faster as the city sprawls more and more.

I get messages at least once a week asking if I'm interested in jobs. You'd still have to interview of course, but it's very, very common.

Denver is a better place to live but would require at least 20% more money to maintain the same lifestyle. Even at 20% you would likely need a smaller house.
