New Jeff Davis DA died suddenly yesterday

He was only 49 and was in good physical shape
He was a really good guy (and I'm about 90% sure based on conversations with him, a poster) who was making some positive improvements in Jeff Davis Parish (as we all know on here, the parish doesn't have the best reputation the past 15 years). Life comes at you fast, bros.

Yes, very sad. I had heard he had COVID late last year or early this year. Not sure if that was related to his passing. KPLC article quoted Jeff Davis Parish coroner as stating it appeared to be a heart attack.

Didn’t know him even though we’re similar ages and both SLU alums. RIP in Peace, as we say.
I do know the Jeff Davis judicial system (particularly on the civil side). I made bank taking Wendell Miller to the Third Circuit back in the day. There was so much graft and corruption going on that it was hard to keep straight.
