Pretty badass.

quote:

The 2500 and 3500 trucks will be available with a 360-degree camera system that can virtually “see” through a trailer. It works with a wired accessory camera that’s mounted to the back of the trailer and sends a feed to the display on the dashboard where it's stitched together with another view from the tailgate to create what appears to be a transparent outline on the screen.

quote:

It’s one of 15 possible views the system provides, including one from another camera inside the trailer that lets you keep an eye on cargo and live animals of all species.

Great idea, but it's not seeing through the trailer.

Uh... if you can see everything behind you, then you could indeed see something not being attached to your vehicle... since it's behind you... which you can see with this function....

When my nephew first saw the birds eye view, he asked how was that possible? I told him every time the car was shifted into reverse, a drone would launch and transmit the view back to the car.

His mother chewed my arse when he almost fell out of a moving car trying to see the drone!

well if you look at the pictures it makes whatever you are pulling invisible so you can see the "road" behind you

it literally takes away your ability to watch your load you are pulling

Well you still have your mirrors to do that. I think it’s a cool feature. It’s taking away the biggest blind spot there is while backing a trailer

That is pretty bad arse. I think I'll upgrade trucks later this year had mine for five years now. This will certainly get a look with features like this. Add in I've heard it's tow capacity is quite incredible.

I got one of the 2019 1500s and the new Gmc tailgates are legit. I didn't know I needed it, but it's awesome.

I think I would like the high work surface option with that tailgate.
