I still think 70K out of college is a pretty solid number

Probably....I am certain that lower income areas of France, for example, have schools which underperform schools in higher income areas.

Why is this good? Seems like people here want an economy based on resource extraction, blue-collar work, and not much else. That will turn the USA into a second-tier nation pretty quickly.

I have multiple degrees and certifications. I’ve always said you’ll reach a point in your career where they’ll want to put you in a hole somewhere so just make sure you have the credentials for the hole.

The cycle continues between blue and white collar jobs.

As soon as AI is out of infancy new white collar industries will ramp up and we do the whole song and dance again.

I disagree. Unlike past technical improvement, I think AI will overwhelmingly be a job killer rather than a job builder.

The way I look at it, a college degree doesn't raise your compensation ceiling, but it does raise your floor. Doesn't mean it's perfect for everyone, but advanced education still serves as a good strategy for lifetime earning potentials, assuming you choose degree fields wisely.

I did some trade work in college. It’s good honest work. I wouldn’t want to do this kind of work my entire life. It’s very hard on the body. The best bet is to own a business where you don’t have to do that physical work in your 40s and 50s. You let your employees do it and you supervise them.
