I live in Long Island City, NY, so it has to be pretty small, non active. I prefer Boxers and Great Dames but obviously they are out of the picture.
The leading candidate is a French Bulldog. His name would be Napoleon Boneapart.

Basenji.
quote:
Dog Breed Group: Hound Dogs
Height: 1 foot, 4 inches to 1 foot, 5 inches tall at the shoulder
Weight: 22 to 24 pounds
Life Span: 10 to 12 years
quote:
Mischievous, smart, lively and by no means silent, the “barkless” Basenji is a hilarious handful. You must have a sense of humor to live with him. He’s catlike in his cleanliness and independence, and his wrinkled forehead makes him look worried, but what he’s really thinking about is how he can rearrange your home décor.
quote:
Exercise Requirements: >40 minutes/day
Energy Level: Very energetic
Longevity Range: 12-14 yrs.
Tendency to Drool: Low
Tendency to Snore: Low
Tendency to Bark: Low
Tendency to Dig: Low
Social/Attention Needs: Moderate

This is the OT
As such, you need to get a shelter dog or just go ahead and kill yourself

But, of course.
Especially in NY.
do you realize that a number of dogs that our family as fostered have been relocated to northern states like NY.?
I know a network that has transported nearly 1000 dogs from the South to the North just last year alone.

They are great dogs though. Either this, a dachshund, or a Italian greyhound. You can get one through an adoption service.

Get a pug. Small, non active, and awesome.

One of my friends has a pug. It sneezed one day and it’s eye popped out.
I wouldn’t recommend a dog that defective.

Australian Sheppard or a Mini Aussie.
Smart, protective, great with kids, and have a lot of personality. They do like to be active so I usually take mine with me on my runs but when I am lazy he kinda goes with it and lays around the house too.

Get an arrogant, haughty Pomeranian named Horace and call it a day.
