The entire town is probably on the husband’s side, it’s no surprise the judges are as well. However, that’s even more of a reason to recuse themselves.
I thought civil and criminal cases would be different? I'm no lawyer but that's just my understanding
the ex husband has zero involvement or connection to her criminal activities

This threw me off as well. The guy who posted this got it mixed up. The husband is the insurance agent for one of the judges.

This just sounds like small-town life. The judges probably have some connection to virtually everyone with a case in front of them. How could they not?

I’m not a lawyer. What are the next steps? So the only two judges in her parish cannot try the case. Does it move to another parish? What is the timeline?
