Wouldn't this require a multi-parish effort? Baton Rouge mayor can't really do this alone.

A minimalist approach would at least require Iberville and Ascension getting on board to do a southern bypass on I-10. Livinston would have to be on board to connect it to I-12, and West Baton Rouge at a minimum as well to make it a full loop.

It's called "carsharing".

I'll laugh even harder at y'all if a loop is actually done, and the traffic doesn't get any better. I can only imagine the tirade of angry motorist posters.

At worst it would only be an indication of how far behind the metro area has been in infrastructure all this time.

But we wouldn't want people to give up their rural land!

A loop only encourages more people to live farther away from their primary intended destination.

What about the Gondolas? I thought some geniuses suggested that a few years ago.

I remember reading an article The Advocate ran about the feasibility of a gondola system. I think that BRAF did two studies on it

News flash, the loop doesn't exist because of nimby dicks in livingston and ascension.

news flash, the NIMBYs aren't the problem. There aren't enough of them to matter. The problem is politicians and businesspeople (usually one and the same) can't agree on where to put a loop or bridge so that they can get the most money, via kickbacks or future development. So a bridge or a loop will never get built.
Quit blaming people who don't have anything to do with teh corruption. NIMBYs just don't feel like having their shite ruined cause the city/parish/state can't plan better.

Will be after January 20th. The handling of this will be on The Donald's watch.

I hate to defend her... but... the train connection to New Orleans has been in talked about for a good while, the downtown to LSU Nicholson corridor tram is a Kip idea that is already in planning, and Zipcars are already in BR.

Yet she'll never consider dealing with the Washington St issue.
