Surely they could do better. My guess is some liberal wants to buck the hot young thing Bond-girl stereo type and prove that older women deserve these kind of roles as much as older men aka Daniel Craig. It will be interesting to see how the movie is received by the public. One of the main reasons I like Casino Royale more than more recent Bond movies was the shear smokin' hotness of Eva Green.

What happened with the leaked email from Sony saying that Idris Elba was going to be the next Bond? No matter how many times folks scream "RACIST" I just can't see Bond as a black guy. That would be like having a white Shaft and that would be messed up.

(If they wanted someone more age appropriate - not that I think Jenn is necessarily right for a Bond Girl/Woman - I bet she would surprise, though.)
Bellucci is even older than the Bond.

I think the idea was floated, but I imagine that the fans spent more time on the controversy than Sony actually spent on the proposal. I liked Clive Owen for Bond after Brosnan (though I was very pleasantly surprised by Craig) and still think he should be in anyone's top 3. A lot of folks don't seem to have cottoned to the idea, though.

I had at least a couple of dreams a week featuring her for pretty much the entire first half of 2007 (generally nothing seedy). I love her face. I actually thought she was pretty much perfect looking in Kingdom of Heaven (before she was really famous).

Agree. There are definitely better choices closer to Craig's age.
